Looking for a complete controller for your TRON?

New Version of the TRON is now available!
Today I released a new version of the TRON, called \"TRON+\".
The plus stands for a more stable frame, greater working area and a easier build of the whole machine.
If you now purchase a TRON licence you will get TWO plans and can decide, which you want to build.
If you have already a TRON licence, you will get a email how to get the new files soon.

New, cheap vendor for alu parts
In the internal blog (see licence email for link) I listed a new manufactor for the alu parts. With this vendor you can build the tron even cheaper!

New Board is online!

For those, who are still building: I am currently in contact to a work shop to produce the Alu parts for the TRON, which are the biggest challenge to organize. More info soon in 2009 in my page.

Looking for the laser parts
I get many emails from user, asking where they could get the laser parts. Please ask Klaus M.! Klaus\'s contact details you will find in the internal page (see link within your license email). When he get more than 4 orders he will cut a new lot. Price will be 220€. Shipping within Europe is possible!

Vacum cleaner adapter for the TRON

News and Info for TRON-CNC
Since a while there are many childs of the TRON born. A few examples you can see at http://www.tron-cnc.de/nachbauten.html. If you have also finished yout TRON, I would be happy to receive a few pictures and a feedback from you.
Do you need information or parts for bulding the TRON? At (the German) forum http://www.rc-network.de/forum/showthread.php?t=72450 you will find many tips as well as vendors, who offer cheap parts for the TRON.
If you consider to mill 2.5D you might be interested in cheap cuttings bits. A new onlineshop http://www.sorotec.de/ offers, in my opignion, the cheapest ones on the internet. First time customer get a 10% discount!

Plan for free for a CNC foam cutter
After the TRON project was finished, I started a new project to build a CNC foam cutter. All parts have been milled with my TRON out of 4mm plywood. The (short-) plan is available for free on my page.

The first replicas are finished
After many plans are sold I am receiving the first pictures of new build TRON machines. I created a special menue entry \'Replicas\' to show you this great pictures. If you have pictures too, I would be happy to show them on my page.

New Movie, first licences sold
With a own CNC router you become quite fast addicted to it.
I produced already the third RC model on my TRON. A movie could be seen under Downloads (Rips set).
Since mid of last week the plan is available and has been sold some times. I wounder, when the first TRON is build by someone.

The plan is available!
It tooks a long time, but now the plan of the TRON-CNC mill is available.
For 25€ you can purchase the plan in the order section of this page.
As payment system I installed PayPal. The purchasing process is automated, so you will get immediatly the plan by email.

The second cut... first real shape cutted
After a long configuration session in PCNC I figured out, which parameter have to be set, to get a right scaled result. As a test I cutted a fish into 4mm Pappel-wood.
The feed of 7mm/sec is not perfect, but I am sure, I can change this later on to a much higher value.

Now its up to me to find some time to finalize the building instructions to offer the plan in the shop area.

First Cut!
Some things take always longer then expected. In the meantine I decided to buy a new house and moved to it...
Today I was keen to make the first test with the machine. It works!
I cutted a smal rip. Now I can start to configure PCNC and modify the machine parameter to get best results.

Still alive
Long time with no update ....
The good RC-flight conditions and my job caused a delay in my original plan.
Today I worked out, to connect my control unit with the z-axis of my machine.
Since I will be a lot outside Germany the next weeks I have to postpone the first cutting results a little bit. Latest to the X-max party the building plan will be available ....

Step motors, table, gear belt
After a long pause caused by family and good flight conditions the progress is moving. The step engines are mounted and the gear bealt is installed.
The missing part is now to combine the TRON with the finised control unit...

Control unit and coupler
Slowly progress... the coupler are delivered from Maedler.
The control unit arrived as well and have been installed in an old PC case.
My dad build me a stable table made by steal.

The spindles are mounted
In small steps the finish of the mechanic is done. Today I mounted the spindles and the corresponding bearing blocks.

The portal is installed
Now I start to mount the portal. Therefore the ball screw nuts are installed and the gliders are exactly aligned to avoid clambing.

The linear gliders are mounted
Now the linear gliders are mounted.
The bearings are screwed with M8 screws.
The z-axis is monted separatly.

It gets blue
After the primer dried I colored the table and the portal with a shinning blue color. It looks great now.

Table and portal are finished
Due the perfect fit of the Laser-cutted parts the building of the router is done in a very short time frame which is only limited by job and family.
The table and portal is finished, most of the Z-axis is done.
Now it\'s time to think about coloring. The router will get a metallic-blue surface by some spray from the craft shop. More on the weekend.

The laser cutted parts arrived
It takes almost three weeks, to get the laser cutted parts for the TRON. I tested them and they fit perfect to each other. More under building report. I will start with the building right now.
